Birchwood Lodge is a perfect retreat for 2 - (so I'm told by all our previous guests). It is a purpose built flat above our detatched garage (so there's no noise as it's only used for storage). Everyone that has stayed with us describe it as a cosy, very well equipped apartment with everything you need for your stay. We are in a quiet countryside location with excellent views of Ben Nevis, Nevis Range and Glen Nevis and is a 5 min walk to the Caledonian Canal. It is a great base for climbing ie Ben Nevis, Skiing, taking day trips to Skye, Mull and Loch Ness. There's also the Steam Train to Mallaig running throughout the summer months.
It can be set up as a double on a super king-sized bed, or as a twin. All central heating, electricity, towels, bed linen and WIFI are included in the price. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker with oven/grill, combi-microwave, dish washer, washer/dryer, fridge with small freezer above which comes with a bottle of wine and a pint of milk to make yourself a cuppa to enjoy with the homemade victora sponge cake that is also awaiting you, there's even tin foil and cling film for your packed lunches and salt and pepper. The TV has a DVD player that also plays CD's built in.
There is secure storage in the garage for bikes and outdoor equipment and a private deck area with seating for the good weather.
The Fort William area has lots to offer including mountain biking on the world championship downhill course, gondola trips on Aonach Mor, climbing, hill-walking, boat trips, golf, steam train journeys throughout the summer months.
The accommodation is no smoking and regrettably no pets are allowed.
